Three injured in wreck near Strathmore

Three Strathmore residents, including two children, were injured in an accident last week.

The accident occurred at 11:30 a.m. May 5 at Avenue 182 at Road 224 (Westwood Avenue) just south of Strathmore, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 2001 Chevrolet was traveling westbound on Avenue 182 when it pulled out in front of a 1999 Oldsmobile traveling southbound on Road 224. The driver of the Oldsmobile attempted to swerve but did not have enough time to avoid the collision. The front end of the Oldsmobile hit the right side of the Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet had come to a complete stop before entering the intersection but then pulled out in front of oncoming traffic which did not have a stop. There are stop signs on Avenue 182 but not on Road 224.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 26-year-old Yvette Sevilla of Strathmore, had major injuries. Two passengers in her car, two, 1-year-old boys, had minor injuries. All three were taken by ambulance to Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville. The driver of the Oldsmobile and his passenger were not injured in the crash. All those involved were wearing seat belts or in car seats.

One injured in wreck near Three Rivers

Tulare County firefighters responded to a traffic accident in the 39000 block of Sierra Drive (Highway 198) in Three Rivers.

At about 7:53 a.m. May 7, firefighters found a Chevrolet pick up across the road blocking both lanes of traffic. There was also an Isuzu Trooper just past the pick up on its side and in the drainage ditch.

Two occupants of the Isuzu had minor injuries consisting of scratches and did not want to be transported to the hospital. However, the single occupant of the Chevrolet pick-up, a female, had moderate injuries and was treated and transported by ambulance to Kaweah Delta District Hospital in Visalia. Three engines and seven staff responded.

Roll-over wreck injuries 1

Tulare County firefighters responded to a traffic accident with pin-in on Myer Drive and Road 216.

At about 6:23 p.m. May 4, firefighters found a single vehicle upside down in the middle of the road and three vehicle occupants. Two had minor injuries and one had major injuries.

The two patients with minor injuries refused transfer to the hospital and the one with major injuries was transferred to Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia. Four engines and eight staff responded.

Minor head-on collision near Strathmore

Tulare County firefighters responded to a traffic accident in the 192000 block of orange Belt Drive in Strathmore.

At about 5:51 p.m. April 29, firefighters found two vehicles that had a head-on collision. Both drivers had been injured. One of the drivers had minor injuries and refused treatment while the second driver had neck and back pain and obvious injury to her right ankle. She was transported to Sierra View District Hospital by ground ambulance. Three engines and 10 staff responded.

Side-impact collision in Lindsay injures two

Tulare County firefighters responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of Highway 65 and Avenue 208 in Lindsay.

At about 10:03 a.m. April 29, firefighters found two vehicles off the roadway, the result of a side impact collision in the intersection. The drivers and single occupants of the vehicles had been injured.

One had minor injuries and refused treatment and the second one had moderate injuries. He was treated at the scene and transported to Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville. Two engines and five staff responded.
