City, County, Cal Fire departments hold new event for National Fire Prevention Week
VISALIA – Guys like trucks. Girls like guys with big trucks. Kids like Monster trucks. Trucks are the unofficial vehicle of rural America and there are two kinds that everyone likes – fire trucks and food trucks. Put them together, and you’ve got an event that should go off without a hitch.
The Visalia Fire Department, in conjunction with the Tulare County Fire Department and Cal Fire, will hold the first ever Fire Trucks & Food Trucks event this Sunday, Oct. 14.
“We’re trying a new and fun way of closing out this year’s National Fire Prevention week,” said Kurtis Brown, City of Visalia Fire Department. “It’s great to have our partners in prevention across the County join us, we’re ready for a lot of fun.”
This special event will have an assortment of food trucks available along with bounce houses, fire trucks/engines, kids activities, and fire safety information. The event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sears parking lot at the corner of Caldwell Avenue and Mooney Boulevard. Admission and all activities at the event will be free to participants with the exception of purchases made at food trucks.
