visalia – The top educators at Tulare County’s largest school district received raises last month. At its July 11 meeting, the Visalia Unified School District Board approved a 2.5% salary increase this school year and a new salary schedule for its superintendent and assistant superintendents.

Dr. Todd Oto, superintendent of Visalia Unified, will be paid a base salary of $235,348. Assistant Superintendents for human resources, administrative services and instructional services will all receive the 2.5% increase as well. The following administrators will be paid $187,143 during the 2017-18 school year: Robert Gröeber, assistant superintendent of administrative services and Melanie Stringer, assistant superintendent of instructional services. Dr. Tamara Ravalin, assistant superintendent – human resources department, will receive $169,130.

The increases were in-line with the 2.5% increase negotiated by the Visalia Unified Teachers Association in June. VUSD’s Board of Education unanimously approved the increase at its June 13 meeting.
