Fall sports gearing up
The Exeter Parks and Recreation’s youth football and volleyball leagues are getting ready to begin registration. Registration will be held at Straw Hat Pizza (1111 W. Visalia Rd.) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Aug. 14 and 21. Registration fee is $45 if registered by Aug. 24. On Aug. 25, the fee rises to $55 and players will be assigned to a team if vacancies arise.
The youth flag football league is open for boys and girls from kindergarten to sixth grade. Participants will learn the fundamentals of football, team play and sportsmanship in an organized setting. Games this season will be held on Tuesdays and Saturdays at Dobson Field. Coaches will be responsible for practice schedule.
The youth volleyball league is open to boys and girls in second to eighth grade. Athletes who participate in the program will be taught the fundamentals of the game in a fun, organized setting. Games will be held on Thursdays and Saturdays at a location yet to be determined. The season is slated to begin on Saturday, Sept. 22.
Visalia Corporate Games returns
Visalia Parks and Recreation announces the 10th annual Visalia Corporate Games. The two-week long Olympic-style competition runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 5. It aims to promote a healthier lifestyle through teamwork, participation, and fun. Nightly competitions such as archery, bowling, corn hole, kickball, table tennis, and more will be conducted. Cost per team is $600. All team members must be 18 years of age or older. Registration deadline is Friday Sept. 7 by 5 p.m. Registration forms can be turned in at the Anthony Community Center (345 N.
