Cardinals crash with week of losses
The Lindsay Cardinals (9-11) took on back-to-back road games this week against the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears (6-14) and the Granite Hills Grizzlies (22-2). Lindsay could not manage to fight off either bear as they were taken down by Sierra Pacific 75-68 on Tuesday, Feb. 2 and then Granite Hills 88-37 on Thursday, Feb. 4.
The Cardinals should have an easier time against the Corcoran Panthers (6-18) at home on Thursday, Feb. 11 after welcoming Woodlake (7-17) to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 9 after press time.
Spartans charge to a week full of wins
The Strathmore Spartans made quick work out of Tigers and Bears last week as they sent the Woodlake Tigers (7-17) packing with a 56-39 loss in their pocket on Tuesday, Feb. 2 before doing the same with the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears (6-14). Strathmore managed to tack on 60 points to the scoreboard to the Golden Bears 49 on Thursday, Feb. 4.
The Spartans have back-to-back road games this week after taking on the Corcoran Panthers (6-18) yesterday, Tuesday, Feb. 9 after press time, they’ll travel to take on the East Sequoia League leaders in Granite Hills (22-2) on Thursday, Feb. 11.
Cards drop close one, but rebound with win
The Lindsay Cardinals (8-13) averaged offensive production in the 50s this week, but it was only good enough for one win. On Tuesday, Feb. 2 the Cardinals tried to fight off the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears (18-4) but fell just a point shy with a 54-53 loss. However, Lindsay was able to come back with a dominant performance over Granite Hills (2-13), 51-24.
Lindsay took on the Woodlake Tigers (6-11) Tuesday, Feb. 9 on the road, and will travel to take on the Corcoran Panthers (5-17) on Thursday,
Spartans go up and down in 1-1 week
Strathmore (15-11) was hopping to make through the week undefeated after their 62-42 win over the Woodlake Tigers (6-11). Although it was not meant to be as they suffered a nine point, 42-33 loss to the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears (18-4) just two days later, Thursday, Feb. 4.
Strathmore welcomed the Corcoran Panthers (5-17) to their home court on Tuesday, Feb. 9 after press time, and will be taking on the Granite Hills Grizzlies (2-13) tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 11.
Monarchs suffer ups and downs on the road
The Exeter Monarchs (8-10-2) took their first of two matches on the road last week against the Selma Bears (10-6-2) and walked away with another league defeat 3-0. However the Monarchs were able to rebound against the CVC Cavaliers (6-12-1) on their home pitch and walked away with a 4-1 victory two days later on Thursday, Feb. 4.
Exeter moved on this week and took to the road road for their first of two road matches this week against the Immanuel Eagles (0-9) on Monday, Feb. 8 after press time. The Monarchs will move on to play the Kingsburg Vikings (8-12-1) on Friday, Feb. 12.
