Shirley Ruth Arnold
A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Visalia on Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m for Shirley Ruth Arnold.
Shirley passed away on June 15 in Visalia at the age of 89.
She was born on June 13, 1924 in San Bernardino to Joel Martin and Marjorie Martin. Mom grew up in Victorvil
le, during WWII. She attended San Bernardino School of Aircraft where she learned to repair auto pilots and bomb sights etc. She worked at the base in Victorville from 1942 to 1945.
She married William Leon Arnold in 1943. They had two children William Randolph (Randy) Arnold and Mary Ruth (Arnold) Runyon.
Mom was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She loved the church and all the people who were so good to her.
Mom was a life member of the Rainbow Girls. She learned to transcribe Braille. Mom was wonderful at kn
Mom was preceded in death by our father after 56 years of marriage.itting and crocheting. She also loved playing cards with her friends on Mondays.
Mom is survived by her son Randy (Su), daughter Ruth (Jim), four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her loving sister Barbara of Lake Oswego, Ore. and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.
Mom was a special lady full of intelligence and grace.
