Obituary: Cara Elaine Dyson
Cara Elaine Dyson, formerly of Lindsay, Calif., passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in Anaheim, Calif. She was 73 years old.
Cara Elaine French was born in Atascadero, Calif. on Dec. 4, 1945 to Maynard Lester French, born Oct. 30, 1900 and Viola Elaine (Lund) French, born Aug. 25, 1908. She grew up in Paso Robles, Calif., where her father was the fire chief, and graduated from Paso Robles High School in 1963.
After living in many states with her first husband, Cara settled in Lindsay, Calif. in 1970. She worked as an orange grader at Cal Citrus and LoBue Bros. packinghouses for 30 years. She was married to her husband, Bill, for 32 years. She loved watching sports on TV, camping, reading, playing card games and gardening. She loved listening to country music. She loved her visits with her grandchildren and was their biggest fan. She was a great friend to many.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter Ramona Cobb (husband, Melvin Cobb); a son Lester Hicks (wife, Carol Hicks); grandchildren Daireck Hicks, Vanessa Cobb, Alexander Cobb, Payton Cobb, Kamryn Cobb, Enzo Walker, Chemeia Pipkins (husband, Justin Pipkins),and Brian Mallard (wife, Carol Mallard); and two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Dixie Mallard. She also leaves many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola French, on June 23, 1954; her father, Maynard Lester French, on July 31, 1964; her husband, William Louis Dyson on Nov. 11, 2006; her granddaughter, Mechelle Gandy on March 20, 2011; and her great-grandson, Asher Rion Gandy on March 20, 2011; as well as many close relatives and friends. Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery
