Obituary: Carl J. Hardin

Carl J. Hardin

Carl James Hardin of Exeter, Calif. passed away on July 21, 2018 in Visalia, Calif. at the age of 79. He was born on Nov. 14, 1938 in Shawnee, Okla. to Armor and Lela (Shelton) Hardin. He moved with his family to the Exeter area at the age of 5. Carl attended schools in Lemon Cove and graduated from Exeter Union High School in 1958. After serving in the U.S. Army, he married Maxine on Jan. 23, 1965. He worked for RDS in Exeter for many years as well as being a farmer. He was also the Maintenance Supervisor for Memorial Hospital of Exeter for over 11 years. After retiring, they moved to Branson, Mo. where he was the Maintenance Supervisor for the Best Western. Carl enjoyed working with wood and his hands including gardening. He loved his flowers and traveled to many places with family.  

Carl is survived by his wife Maxine of Exeter; son Michael Hardin of Visalia; daughter Michele Harding of Hollister, Calif.; brother Del Harding of Visalia; sister Vi (William) Meinhold of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; and his grandsons Brenzon Martell, Colin Martell and MJ Hardin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, which he loved dearly.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 at Evans Miller Guinn Chapel in Exeter.  Burial will be in the Exeter District Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.evansmillerguinnchapel.com. Services entrusted to Evans Miller Guinn Chapel.
