Lynn Barnett
Viewing and visitation for Lynn Barnett of Exeter, Calif. will be held 10 a.m. 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, at Smith Family Chapel in Exeter. immediately followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Exeter Cemetery before a reception at the Stag Saloon in Exeter at 4 p.m.
A loving father, brother, uncle, son, friend, and local “entrepreneur”, Lynn passed away peacefully on Jan. 3, 2018. An Exeter native, Lynn was born to Leslie and Helen Barnett of Exeter. He was one of six siblings – Alluwe Johnson, Bob Barnett, Lyle Barnett, Karleen Dildine, and Peggy MicKinzie. He is preceded in death by his brothers, sisters, parents, and his youngest son, Tucker Barnett, whom he loved with all his heart. In his last days, he looked forward to being reunited with his baby boy.
In his time on earth, Lynn was known for a generous heart paired with a sharp mind (and mouth, when he was speaking clearly). He took each joke in stride, and gave all he had to those he loved. He was particularly well-known as a co-owner of The Stag Saloon with his dear, lifelong friend, Charlotte Correia, who passed away in 2017.
He leaves behind four sons: Darren Barnett, of Fresno; Leslie Barnett, of Tulare; Joey Barnett, of Los Angeles; and Darrell Barnett, of Costa Rica. From a previous marriage of 19 years with Karen Barnett, of Exeter, he also leaves behind two stepdaughters who he counted as his own: Kara Fanning, of Gonzales, and Linzy McBride, of Exeter. Lastly, he leaves behind several grandchildren whom he adored with all his heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Exeter Agricultural Department, c/o Tucker Barnett Memorial, at 505 Rocky Hill Drive, Exeter, CA 93221. Arrangements by Smith Family Chapel in Exeter, Calif. Condolences may be made at
