EXETER – After starting the season 13-2, the Exeter girls water polo team seemed to have hit a rough patch. They struggled through some tournaments and have now lost their first three league games of the season. Last Wednesday, they loss a close 9-6 match up to Selma.
“Girls played a lot more relaxed, in the last couple games they played tense,” head coach Patrick Hendricks said.
He is confident about how the team will compete in their final games of the regular season.
“I feel like we have a chance to win each of those five games. The girls are coming together and trusting each other.”
For the Exeter boys water polo team, their season has been up and down. They are 9-7 on the season, and got their first CSL victory with a 17-8 win over Selma. They were close to being 2-0 in the league after narrowly losing to Hanford West 7-6 last Monday. They were ahead 5-1 at half time before falling apart. They close out their season at Hanford West then home against Dinuba.
