FARMERSVILLE – Farmersville lost a resident on Saturday, Aug. 10 in a solo car accident according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to a CHP collision report at approximately 11:54 p.m. CHP’s Fresno communications center received a call of a solo traffic collision on Ave. 264 east of Rd. 64. Officers from the CHP Visalia area office were dispatched to the scene.

The initial investigation found that a yet to be identified 22-year-old male was driving a 2005 Honda Accord, traveling east on Avenue 264, east of Road 164.

For reasons yet to be determined, the driver allowed the Honda to travel off the roadway, colliding with a power pole.  The Honda came to rest on the south shoulder of Avenue 264, east of Road 164.  As a result of the crash, the driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Its unclear if alcohol and/or drugs appeared to be a factor in this crash.

For further information regarding the crash, please contact the Visalia Area CHP Public Information Officer Steve Beal.
