Visalia brings the yard sale to bigger, cooler level

Visalia Convention Center will hold its 4th Gigantic Indoor Yard Sale on Saturday, Aug. 10

VISALIA – It’s hard to justify bargain hunting at yard sales when the temperature is higher than the amount of money you are willing to spend on used appliances.

Instead of waking up at the crack of dawn to beat the heat, why not get up at a normal time and make your way over to the Visalia Convention Center for a bigger, and more importantly cooler, version of a yard sale. This Saturday, Aug. 10, the Visalia Convention Center will hold its 4th Gigantic Indoor Yard Sale. There will be over 60 booths selling gently used items including household items, toys, collectibles, tools, furniture, clothing, and much more.

There will also be food vendors including the Cinnamon Roll Shack food truck, which will be serving up delicious hot cinnamon rolls, coffee and hot chocolate, as well as Sequoia Brewing Company, which will be selling breakfast burritos and grilled wraps. There is plenty of free parking and great deals as evidenced by the more than 6,000 people who attended the first three years of the event.

“We look forward to another great event,” said Shelly Ellis, general manager of the Visalia Convention Center. “It’s going to be hot outside, but we have that covered and will keep everyone cool inside.”

Doors to shop at the Indoor Yard Sale will open at 8 a.m. on Aug. 10 and close at 2 p.m. Admission is just $3 per person and $5 for two people, with a reduced admission after 12 p.m., cash only please. Tickets to attend the yard sale can be purchased at the Visalia Convention Center the day of the sale. In partnership with the Bethlehem Center, the event we will be offering a $1 discount on admission for anyone that brings in a donation of non-perishable food items. There is only one discount per person or one discount on the price of two. Some items in particular that the Bethlehem Center is in great need of water bottles, cooking oil, garlic salt, pepper, chicken bouillon and canned food items.
