TULARE COUNTY – Summer is right around the corner, which means it is almost time for Tulare County Library’s free annual Summer Reading Program!

The branch libraries are offering free reading programs for all ages – 0-100 – as part of its “It’s Showtime at Your Library” themed events. Summer Reading Program begins June 11 and goes through July 20. Stop by the library to register and get your reading log! As you meet your reading goals, you can earn prizes.

Participating in Summer Reading is a great way to prevent the notorious “summer slide” (loss of skills gained throughout the school year during the summer months). It’s also a community hub in the summer, a fantastic place to stay cool and make friends. All ages can feed their minds with the variety of great reading materials we offer.

Reading throughout the summer is one of the best ways to keep you and your child’s mind active. Reading is fun, builds character, and helps you discover the world around you. This year’s theme is ‘It’s Showtime at Your Library’ and we invite you explore your world through books and through the joys of reading.

Each of the branches has entertainers, events and special reading activities, and it is all free.
