Lindsay club announces TERRIFIC kids of April
Lindsay Kiwanis Club honors Jonavan Medina and Yulissa Corona for their outstanding character
LINDSAY – Jonavan Medina is a 7th grade learner at Jefferson Learning Community. Jonavan is a dual language learner who was nominated for TERRIFIC Learner because he demonstrates all the characteristics of TERRIFIC. His favorite subject is Math; and, he plans on becoming an elementary school teacher following graduation from high school. Jonavan is part of Jefferson’s Team Empower and belongs to the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club. Outside of school, Jonavan likes to play soccer. His personal motto is: “Stand for what you believe in.” Through Team Empower and FBLA, Jonavan gives back to his school community.
Yulissa Corona is a 6th grade dual language learner at Jefferson Learning Community. She was nominated as a TERRIFIC Learner because she exhibits TERRIFIC qualities in everything she does at Jefferson. Yulissa is a member of Team Empower, guiding and presenting to visitors from around the country who are interested in Lindsay Unified’s Performance Based System of education. Her favorite subject is reading. Following high school graduation, Yulissa plans to study fashion design with the career goal of designing clothing. When she is older, Yulissa wants to return to Lindsay to give back to her community.
The Lindsay Kiwanis Club recognized Jonavan Medina and Yulissa Corona, along with their families, as April’s TERRIFIC Learners at the Lindsay Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting on April 22.
