Spend spring break on the farm
McKellar Family Farms in Ivanhoe offers interactive citrus farm tour April 16-19
IVANHOE – Spring Break from school can be a parent’s nightmare. The kids are home for an entire week and you need to come up with seven days of activities to entertain them!
Fill one of those days with a fun and educational citrus farm tour experience at McKellar Family Farms in Ivanhoe. Tours include a wagon ride around the farm, a video viewing of the picking and packing process, a meet and greet with Farmer Bob and the opportunity to pick and take home oranges!
McKellar Family Farms is offering four days of tours open to the public. The interactive tours of their citrus farm are typically reserved by large parties, but they have set aside next week so that families can enjoy the farm during spring break without needing to organize a large group. Tours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday from April 16-19. The cost is $10 per person with children under the age of 2 getting in for free. Space on each day is limited, so guests are encouraged to book in advance.
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, McKellar Family Farms provide visitors with an educational and interactive agricultural experience on their 182-acre citrus farm. Currently, they offer group wagon tours to thousands of tourists, school groups, and guests, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at life on a California citrus farm. Future plans include to develop a family farm experience geared toward individuals and small groups.
