Visalia Breakfast Lions, Rawhide Baseball host Irish Fest on Saturday, March 16 in Visalia
VISALIA – There isn’t a huge population of Irish Americans living in the Visalia area. That is, except for March 16. On that day, everyone is allowed to be a little Irish!
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style with the St.Patrick’s Day Parade down Main Street followed by the 2019 Irish Fest at Rawhide Park. The prade will begin at 10 a.m. at Church Street and travel west to Willis Street. From 1 to 4:30 p.m., Irish Fest goers will be treated to more than 30 flavors of local craft brews, several food trucks, and live music from the band Borrowed Time. T-shirts will be available for sale and an added treat face-painting by Janelle and Gabbi.
Doors open at 1 p.m. with last pour at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door and include a free miniature glass to sample beer and take home as a souvenir. Non-drinkers, such as designated drivers, can get in for $10. All guests must be 21 and older and must carry a valid identification with them at the event.
The inaugural Irish Fest was held at Rawhide Ballpark on March 17, 2012 and continues to grow to this day. The event is being hosted by the Visalia Breakfast Lions and the Rawhide Baseball Foundation for Kids. Money raised will benefit both foundations charity efforts.
A few days after St. Patrick’s Day, Visalia will keep the green theme going with an “Irish Comedy Tour – Irish Comedy & Music Revue” on Friday, March 22 at the Visalia Fox Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. followed by showtime at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $24.50 to $39.50 and can be purchased at foxvisalia.org.
