February 3 – Run with the Creative Center Foundation in their Seventh Annual Super Bowl Sprint, a 5K for runners and walkers. Prizes include a flat screen TV just in time for the Big Game. Entry is $25 at early registration online at runsignup.com, or $30 on race day.

February 19 – 10th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser at Visalia Rescue Mission, 741 N. Santa Fe in Visalia from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to raise awareness about hunger and food insecurity. Local sponsors provide hand-crafted bowls and serve a simple meal. Guests choose a bowl for their meal and keep it as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.
