Four gang members arrested for murder
Esequel Arredondo, 22, was shot to death on July 27 on N. Locust St.
VISALIA – Police have arrested four gang members for murder in a July 27 shooting downtown.
At 5:38 p.m. officers with the Visalia Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Locust Street for reports of a shooting. Officers arrived to find 22-year-old Esequel Arredondo unresponsive and suffering form a gunshot wound. Arredondo was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Officers with the department’s gang unit, or Special Enforcement Unit, located and detained six subjects leaving the area in a vehicle. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit and the Crime Lab responded and took over the investigation. Evidence led to the arrest of four of the individuals including 19-year-old Elijah Segura, 32-year-old Clark Molina, 23-year-old Jon Cortez and 19-year-old Arthur Sul. All four were booked at the Tulare County Pretrial Facility on charges of homicide with a gang enhancement.
Two additional subjects were detained shortly after the shooting occurred; however, they were later released without charges. The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Det. Henry Martinez at 559-713-4156.
