Man, 18, is arrested for July 8 shooting in the 200 block of E. Main St.


VISALIA – Police quickly captured the gunman and his gun in a downtown shooting last week.

Robert Lamount Crossley, 18, was arrested after midnight on July 8 near Santa Fe and Center Avenue a few blocks from where the shooting took place. According to a Visalia Police Department report, officers received a call of an assault with a deadly weapon at 12:36 a.m. in the 200 block of East Main Street. 
During the investigation officers learned that a verbal altercation broke out between Crossley and the victim At some point during the confrontation, Crossley allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot the man. The victim was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The handgun was found near the crime scene. Crossley was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Pre-trial Facility for attempted murder and numerous firearms related charges.

Thursday, July 5
At 6 a.m. in the area of Miller Park and Goshen Avenue, officers responded to a report of a man smashing windows to multiple businesses. Witnesses told police that the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Felipe Andrade Jr., smashed windows at Perfection Pet Foods, CSET Recycle Center, and California Stainless Technologies. Andrade was positively identified, arrested, and booked for three counts of felony vandalism.
Monday, July 9
At 2:13 p.m. at Rite Aid, located at 5212 W. Walnut Ave., officers responded to a robbery which had just occurred. An employee told officers that a male, later identified as 25-year-old Daniel Martinez, and a female, later identified as 18-year-old Brisa Vizairo, had stolen items from the business and fled on foot. Employees attempted to detain them at which time Martinez produced a knife. Officers located both Martinez and Vizairo who were identified by three separate employees. Both were booked into the Tulare County Pre Trial facility for robbery and conspiracy.
