Ruiz 4 Kids awards $575K in scholarships; $329K awarded to Central Valley students
DINUBA – A total of 329 California Central Valley students are recipients of 2018 Ruiz 4 Kids Scholarships, 15 high school students from Exeter, Farmersville and Lindsay were each awarded $1,000 scholarship.
“We are thrilled to assist in the continued education of local high school and community college students,” said Blanca Santana, Ruiz 4 Kids Dinuba. “We could not be more excited at our ability to award scholarships to youth in our community and help them achieve their dream of higher education. Ruiz 4 Kids looks forward to following their achievements.”
Students who were each awarded a scholarship in Exeter, Farmersville and Lindsay area are:
Exeter Union High School: Anne Morley, Garrett Ward.
Farmersville High School: Jenifer Callejas, Ruth Lopez, Sayra Ramirez, Jacqueline Silva, Jasmin Zavala.
Lindsay High School: Kristy Barajas, Ashley Cardenas, Cece Castanon, Ricardo Gonzalez-Espinoza, Marlene Gutierrez, Cynthia Medina-Silva, Camille Sanchez, Raul Velasco Martinez.
All scholarship dollars are raised via the Louis F. Ruiz Golf Invitational. Since 1985, over $3M in scholarships has been awarded.
Ruiz 4 Kids is a non-profit organization founded in 1991 when employees of Ruiz Food Products, Inc. approached founder Fred Ruiz asking him to help them explore ways to assist families with children in need. Today, Ruiz 4 Kids works to fund two children/education programs: scholarships to high school seniors/community college students and the Mini-Grants for Teachers program.
