VISALIA – With spring-like weather already in the air, why not get a head start on your household projects by planting some Magnolia in your living room.
Linda McIntosh, owner of Etc. (explore the collection) on E Street in Exeter, will be bringing the latest from Magnolia Homes line of furniture to the 25th annual Springfest this weekend at the Visalia Convention Center.
McIntosh said her booth will feature a new living room set from Magnolia Homes, made famous by owner and designer Joanna Gaines. The Americana colored sofa and chairs set is extremely popular and has been a back order since July, so this might be the only time to see it in person in the Valley.
Joanna and husband Chip Gaines are the hosts of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper,” where Chip uses his real estate and construction skills coupled with Joanna’s eye for design and knack for finding unique décor to flip houses as owners of Magnolia Homes in Waco, Texas. Reality TV’s most realistic love birds share an honest on-screen chemistry that makes viewers feel like guests in their home, even when the home is being built for someone else. Their TV show, which will air its last season this year, has created spin off companies in the form wallpaper, books, and a line of furniture and furniture accessories.
Off screen, Joanna is the shining star as her line of furniture and furniture accessories have spun off into a sprawling downtown Waco property that includes two huge grain silos and a 20,000-square-foot barn on 2.5 acres known as the Magnolia Market at the Silos. About 15,000 people visit “The Silos” per week, enough to cause the City of Waco to review its parking plan for the next 20 years. Since its opening in 2015, Gaines’ line of furniture expanded its reach outside of Texas to exclusive dealers all over the country, like Linda’s ETC in Exeter.
“I think the appeal of Magnolia Home is the simplicity,” McIntosh said. “With Joanna’s design, less really is more and the prices are something ordinary people can afford.”
Augmenting ETC’s exhibit of Magnolia Home will be Rusti’k Works. Based out of Tulare, Rusti’k Works builds furniture, mantle pieces, pillars, shelves and frames from rough textured hardwood, iron and stone. They also specialize in iron-framed rolling barn doors and pallet walls. The two will be giving away a $500 shopping spree at ETC and a 8-foot-by-8-foot pallet wall by Rusti’k Works.
“The owner, Rob, did my countertop in my store and complements the Magnolia line well,” McIntosh said. “I think people will be impressed with what he can do.”
The co-exhibitors will be among many 350 displays at this year’s Springfest including home and patio products, home decor, housewares, unique gifts and crafts, and great food.
Springfest is put on by Showcase Events Inc, one of California’s premier producers of quality consumer events. They also host the Visalia Home EXPO each September at the Visalia Convention Center. For more information on the event, visit www.visaliahomeshows.com/springfest-highlights.
