IVANHOE – With Halloween right around the corner, the Ivanhoe Branch Library wants to sweeten the deal to get kids to read. During October, the Friends of the Tulare County Library is playing host to a children’s book drawing at the Ivanhoe Branch, as well as the London and Orosi Library branches. The idea is to encourage reading as the weather gets colder, the days get shorter and children are indoors longer.
Each time a child checks out a book at one of these branches, they fill out an entry for the drawing. At month’s end, a drawing in each branch determines the winner of the books and candy on display. The Ivanhoe branch drawing will be on Oct. 31 while the Orosi and London drawings will be on Oct. 27.
Stop by any of these libraries during open hours in October, check out a great read, and enter the drawing.  The Ivanhoe Branch Library is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday . The London Branch Library is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday and the Orosi Branch Library is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Tulare County Library, associations for people who love libraries, reading, books, volunteering, and raising money to enhance public library services.
