Woodlake announces new City Attorney

The City of Woodlake has a new legal representation after the departure of former City Attorney Tom Watson.

Meggin Boranian has taken over as Woodlake’s new city attorney. Boranian is currently working at Fike and Boranian in Clovis, Calif. where she represents and advises various private and public agencies which include the Cities of Mendota and Porterville.

“I am very excited about coming to Woodlake,” said Boranian in a phone interview with the Foothills Sun-Gazette. “Woodlake has a wonderful history.”

She is looking forward to working with the City of Woodlake and their employees as she hopes to be involved with city events.

Boranian admits the hardest part about coming to Woodlake is going to be to get to know the community.

Boranian is a graduate of California State University of Fullerton where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. From there she went on to Western State University, College of Law. She also has a Life teaching Credential in Law from the California Community College.

At Fike and Boranian, she also works with Sanger/Del Rey Cemetery District, local law enforcement and assists with union negotiations and bargaining.

Boranian replaces Watson who left to take a position in South Lake Tahoe.
