Exeter stays alive

In the opening round of the District 34 12 year old all star tournament on June 29 Exeter faced off against Corcoran and walked away with an 8-2 victory to advance to the next day to play Visalia National Little League.

In that game Visalia was about to out slug Exeter as Visalia won 15-6. So with Exeter in an elimination game they had to do something big to keep their hopes alive. The boys of summer did just that as Exeter hit four homeruns in a 21-5 victory over Lemoore.

Tonio Ybarra led the attack with two home runs of his own while Jakob Acosta and Maddox Le had one home run each.

If Exeter wants to advance to the championship game of this tournament they will have to continue to hit the ball hard. If Exeter can make it to Wednesday’s semi final game then they have a great chance at winning the whole tournament.

Both the 9-10 year olds and the 11 year old teams will be playing in their District Championship games.

Exeter’s 9-10 year old team must win two games to be crowned tournament champions. As for Exeter’s 11 year old all star team they have advanced to Saturday’s Championship game and they wait to see who their challenger will be.
