Woodlake holds off Strathmore
The Woodlake Tigers battled to a 49-43 victory over East Sequoia League rival Strathmore on the home court Friday night.
After trailing by three points at the end of one quarter, The Tigers outscored the Spartans 18-10 in the second and held the lead for the rest of the game.
Woodlake’s Jaykob Rodriguez led The Tigers with 15 points, while Jacob Castillo added 8.
Armando Martinez ran the offense and dished out 8 assists to go along with his 5 points.
For Strathmore, Hector Garcia scored 11 points as the Spartans tried to keep the game close, with Leonard Massey adding 9 points.
Orlando Maciel, Eric Lopez and Andrew Pearson each had 3 assists as Strathmore struggled to get shots to drop, shooting only 28 percent on the night.
Strathmore, now 6-11 overall, remains winless in their league schedule while Woodlake has hung around the middle of the pack, they’re now 7-12 overall.
