Porterville celebrates 100th parade
Porterville will continue its century-old tradition of holding a Veterans Day Parade on Monday, Nov. 12. This year marks the 100th annual Veterans Day Parade in Porterville. A pre-parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the historic parade scheduled to roll down Main Street at 10 a.m.
The parade route will begin at the corner of Morton Avenue and Main Street, and end at Main Street and Walnut Avenue. At 11 a.m. there will be a moment of silence. The theme of this year’s parade is “Armistice Day.”

Visalia Veterans Day parade is on Nov. 10
The Visalia Veterans Day Committee will host a Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, Nov. 10. The parade begins at 10 a.m. on Main Street and marches west from Garden Street to Willis Street. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 559-481-7767.
Sequoia Union holds Veterans Day Assembly
Sequoia Union School District in Lemon Cove will hold its 2nd annual Veterans Day Assembly at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 in the school’s cafeteria. Following the assembly, the school will be hosting a Centennial Celebration for Armistice Day, marking the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, at the Lemon Cove Memorial Building. Classes will be rotating through the exhibits of memorabilia and have a meet and greet with local veterans.

COS, University Prep High School host event
The COS Veterans Resource Center is joining forces with University Preparatory High to host a Veterans Appreciation Event on Friday, Nov. 9 at the Porter Field House on the COS Visalia Campus, 915 S. Mooney Blvd.
The event will consist of a ceremony and reception for all veterans in attendance. Please RSVP so we can plan for food.
