Hungry for history?

Tulare County Historical Society’s annual fundraiser slated for Sunday, Oct. 6 at Mooney Grove

TULARE COUNTY – Hungry for some history? The Tulare County Historical Society (TCHS) has an insatiable appetite for preserving local history and they need your help to fuel their research projects by having dinner with them.

TCHS will hold its annual fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 6 at Mooney Grove Park. Happy Cookers catering from Tulare will be cooking up a delicious tri-tip and chicken dinner just behind the Farm Labor Museum at the park from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Haagen-Dazs ice cream will be served for dessert.

“This gives you a great opportunity to invite friends and spend a wonderful afternoon enjoying the breezes of autumn, the museum and to tour the grounds,” said Carl Switzer, past president of the historical society. Entertainment will be provided by the Valley’s premier cover band Run4Cover.

The Tulare County Historical Society has been an active advocate for county history since 1944. Its mission is to promote interest in the history of Tulare County and preserve the heritage of our area for future generations. The society is a tax-exempt non-profit organization.

Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased by sending a check to Tulare County Historical Society, P.O. Box 295, Visalia, CA 93279, or online at www.tularecountyhistoricalsociety.org/events.

For more information, contact Carl Switzer at 559-287-6291 or clswitzer@sbcglobal.net.
