Exeter Friendship Connection celebrates its 15th anniversary, ushers in new officers
EXETER – The Exeter Friendship Connection recently celebrated its 15th anniversary with a delicious taco salad luncheon prepared by the board of directors at the home of president Mary Lou Mobley. Outgoing president Lynelle Norton installed the following officers for 2019-20: Cathy Boone, president; Lois Brannan, first vice-president; Jeannie Germaine, second vice president; Shirley Grim, treasurer; and Mary Lou Mobley, recording secretary. Charter member Dianna Lucas visited from her home in Reno and Rita Brower, past member, also joined the festivities.
The mission of the Exeter Friendship Connection is to provide new and established residents an opportunity to forge a bridge of friendship while promoting a sense of community with local businesses and city government. Emphasis is placed on contacting new residents of Exeter and acquainting them with the city and offering a forum for establishing new friendships.
Luncheon meetings are held in local restaurants on the fourth Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. Social events, craft get-togethers, book reviews and field trips are among the many activities available to members throughout the year.
