Downtown construction stalls Woodlake car
The Woodlake Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the cancelation of this year’s car show.
A member of the Woodlake Valley Chamber stated the car show was canceled because of the construction in the downtown area where the event is held annually.
Downtown beautification projects in Woodlake would have limited access to areas of Main Street and the City Park.
Projects include the construction of a transit center at Antelope and Lakeview, creating a round-a-bout at the intersection of Naranjo and Valencia boulevards and the hardscaping in the downtown area including new sidewalks, tree wells, curbs and gutters and bulb outs along Valencia Boulevard.
The transit center is expected to be completed in September but the rest of downtown probably won’t be finished until sometime next year.
With the Woodlake Valley Chamber of Commerce still receiving calls about the car and bike show, the event will be back next summer in mid July or early August.
In the past the event brings in anywhere from 150 to 170 classic cars to Downtown Woodlake. This year’s event would have been the 15th annual Cruise Night and Car and Bike Show.
