COS Choir performs works by choral giants

COS Choir performs works by choral giants

The COS Vocal Music Department will present its Choral Classics Concert on Feb. 26 at First Presbyterian Church, 215 N. Locust St. in Visalia.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available from performing choir members or at the door. Tickets cost $10 each, and proceeds go to the COS Vocal Music Scholarship fund.

The concert will be conducted by Jeffery A. Seaward, choral director and voice instructor at COS, accompanied by Treasa A. Bonnar at the piano. Featured performing groups will be the COS Concert Choir and Chamber Singers with special guests the Redwood High School Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, under the direction of Mel Carrillo with accompanist Adam Long.

The choirs will be presenting classic choral selections from the 16th to the 21st centuries, including works by John Farmer, Claudio Monteverdi and Tomas Luis de Victoria as well as contemporary works by Richard Nance, Paul A. Aitken, David Dickau and Kevin Memley.
