What are you weighing for?

The Lifestyle Center, the only medically-based fitness facility in Visalia, will open its doors to the public for a series of free nutrition classes starting Thursday, Jan. 17.

The Nutrition & You Class Series will take place from 6-7 p.m. and will be taught by Alana Unger, Registered Dietitian at The Lifestyle Center. Classes include:

-Jan. 17: What’s on Your Plate? General diet and label reading.

-Feb. 21: What’s Cookin’? Menu planning and cooking tips.

-March 21: The Heart of the Matter. Fats, sodium, and DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet overview.

-April 18: Diabetic Know How. Diabetic diet instruction.

-May 16: Let’s Go Out Tonight! Dining out healthier.

-June 20: What Are You Weighting For? Weight management – lose, gain, or maintain.

The Lifestyle Center, a division of Kaweah Delta Health Care District, is open from 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends at 5105 W. Cypress Ave. in Visalia. Information: 624-3400 or visit TheLifestyleCenter.org.
