Free weight loss class held at the Lindsay Wellness Center
The Lindsay Wellness Center is hosting a free six-week weight loss class beginning next Tuesday, Jan. 8.
The class is led by Nutrition Facilitator Patty Hylton and will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. every Tuesday through Feb. 19 at the Lindsay Wellness Center, located at 860 N. Sequoia Drive in Lindsay.
Hylton’s class will follow The Daniel Plan and will include guidance from three worldclass medical authorities and other wellness professionals, including:
• Functional medicine specialist Dr. Mark Hyman
• Brain health expert Dr. Daniel Amen
• Heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz

Waterman Industries to roll up its sleeves
Waterman Industries employees will roll up their sleeves next week. The company will hold a blood drive from 8-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Waterman Industries, 25500 Road 204 (North Spruce Avenue) in Exeter.
Blood donation takes less than one hour to complete. Donors must be in good general health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 years old with written parental consent). Senior citizens are encouraged to donate, as there is no upper age limit. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within 4 hours prior to their donation. Donors can give blood every eight weeks. Photo ID and Social Security Number are required at donor registration.
The Central California Blood Center is the sole provider of blood and blood products for the 31 hospitals in Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings and Mariposa Counties and must collect between 5,000 to 6,000 pints of blood a month to meet the needs of our Valley community.
