First Free Will Baptist Church holds egg hunt for children with special needs
EXETER – The mad dash of masses at community egg hunts can be overwhelming for any small child. That experience is often intensified when the children have special needs.
One local church has come up with a better way.
On Saturday, April 13, the First Free Will Baptist Church of Exeter held its first egg hunt for kids with special needs across the street from the Church at the Brickhouse Park, located at the corner of Palm and G streets in Exeter. Parents of a few children on the autism spectrum, who need deep pressure stimulation, dug into a barrel of sand to find eggs. Children with physical disabilities found floating plastic eggs attached to helium balloons.
No candy was present, but rather eggs were exchanged for prizes for those with dietary restrictions. For Ariana, Caleb, Emily and Julian it was a barrel of fun. If you would like to be involved next year, please contact April at firstname.lastname@example.org.
