EUHS Juniors attend Boy’s State conference
Two Exeter Union High School juniors recently returned from the 76th Session of California Boys State.
Robert Brisco and Huber Garcia were selected from five candidates at the high school to attend the week-long simulation of State Government from June 22-29. Sam Aleman served as an alternate.
The candidates were interviewed by a panel of American Legion members that posed questions based on the principals of scholarship, politics and God and Country. The other candidates interviewed were Patrick Andres and Mary Loya. To attend Boy’s State is a highly regarded accomplishment by colleges and universities as a key component for leadership qualities and character. Al of the candidates interviewed exhibited these high qualities.
In the June 26 article titled, “Food that’s in … when school is out,” the listing of Boys & Girls Club’s locations and Summer Nutrition Program information was outdated. The following items should have read as follows:
• The contact for the Farmersville Boys & Girls Club is Christian Cervantes, not Michael Barrera;
• No lunches are being served at the Exeter Teen Center, which falls under the umbrella of the Exeter Boys & Girls Club.
