Jefferson club makes Lego Robotics regionals
At Jefferson School, Lego Robotics is a club of learners interested in science and technology. Guided by their imaginations and adult coaches/learning facilitators, they discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society. These learners design, build, test and program robots using Lego Mindstorms technology; apply real-world math and science concepts; research challenges facing today’s scientists; learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills; and participate in tournaments and celebrations.
Accompanied by several parents and LF Coach Cristella Sanchez, learners Aaron Sagredo, Andrue Ybarra, Arturo Rosales, Christopher Ferrer, Crystal Medina, Daniel Cervantes, Juan Magana, Marie Yocom, Victor Cisneros, and Salvador Centeno attended their first tournament on Saturday, November 10, at Linwood School in Visalia. Following competition in Core Values, Project, and Robot Challenge, the team learned that they qualified for the regional competition later in the year in Clovis. Congratulations team!
