Wednesday, May 31
At 9:11 a.m., an officer observed Joe Hill, 20 of Lindsay, standing in front of his residence. Upon seeing the officer, Hill ran into the residence. Officers responded and dispatch confirmed Hill had three active warrants. They made contact and located Hill who was hiding under blankets. Hill refused to comply and refused to be handcuffed. After a short struggle, he was taken to the Porterville Sub Station for lodging.
Thursday, June 1
At 1:59 p.m. an officer contacted four subjects in the area of Cambridge and Samoa. Victor Manuel Renteria, 23 of Lindsay, and Julian Ruiz, 19 of Lindsay were contacted. Renteria was found to have a felony warrant with a bail of $75,000 and Ruiz had an active warrant with a $60,000 bail. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Porterville Sub Station. Two juveniles were also at the scene and found to be in violation of compulsory education laws and did not have identification. They were transported to the Police Department for positive identification and processing. They were cited and released to their parents.
Friday, June 2
Lindsay Units responded to the 800 block of West Burem Lane at 6:05 p.m. on June 2, for a report of a dispute between a male and female. Upon arrival, officers contacted a woman who advised she was in a verbal argument with Germain Santacruz, 39. It was determined he was the restrained party in a Domestic Violence Restraining Order out of Santa Clare County. Santacruz was found to have an active extraditable no bail misdemeanor warrant out of Santa Clara County. He was placed under arrest and booked at the Porterville Sub Station.
At 11:53 p.m. an officer was contacted by farmers market cleaning staff who advised of a possibly intoxicated subject on the ground in Sweetbrier Plaza. The officer checked the area and contacted Victor Renteria, 63, who was sleeping in the park. Renteria was found to be heavily intoxicated and he was unable to care for his safety. Renteria was placed under arrest and transported to the police department for processing.
Saturday, June 3
At 8:54 on the 200 block of North Homassel, officers responded to a hit and run traffic collision involving a parked vehicle that occurred sometimes the previous night. Upon arrival, contact was made with the owner, Jamie Martinez, of Lindsay, who advised that he had discovered that an unknown vehicle had struck his Chevy Silverado that was parked in front of his residence.
At 1:35 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a maroon 2010 Ford Mustang. The driver was identified as Marco Vazquez, 22 of Lindsay. Vazquez was determined to be operating the vehicle on a suspended/revoked driver’s license. He was taking into custody without incident and transported to the Police Department for processing. He was then cited and released on a written promise to appear. The vehicle was towed and impounded.
Tuesday, June 6
At 5:40 p.m., officers stopped a white 1994 Chevrolet Silverado and contacted the driver, Edward Contreras, 53 of Porterville. Contreras was found to be driving on a suspended license with service needed and didn’t have a required ignition interlock device. He was issued a citation and the vehicle was stored by Sequoia Towing.
