Aspen Dental helps dentists find peak efficiency

Dr. Sam Saab opens first Aspen Dental location on Mooney Boulevard in Visalia

@TheSunGazette

VISALIA – Doctors have a passion for practicing medicine but not for dealing with health insurance, billing and business practices. One dental provider has found the best of both worlds by having full control of his practice but having access to business support services provided by a dental management company.

On Oct. 3, Dr. Sam Saab opened the newest dental office in Visalia with a grand opening at 3221 S. Mooney Blvd. in Visalia. Dr. Saab, who received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the USC School of Dentistry, leads the new practice. The doctor and his team will provide a range of dental services, including dentures, preventive care and restoration.

In addition to affordable comprehensive dental care, the office provides:

  • A free new patient exam and x-rays for those without insurance
  • An on-site denture lab and a Denture Money Back Guarantee
  • Financing options

Dr. Saab can offer many of these services because he is part of Aspen Dental, a network of franchise-like dental offices that treat nearly 1.8 million patients in 780 offices across 42 states. Unlike some other dental chains, each Aspen Dental branded practice is owned and operated by a licensed dentist. Saab’s Judge Dental PC private practice’s license gives him access to Aspen Dental Management, Inc. (ADMI) which provides administrative and business support services, such as recommendations related to finding the right locations, leasing, acquiring equipment, accounting and marketing. ADMI does not own or operate the dental practices, employ or in any way supervise the dentists providing dental care, and control over the care provided is the sole responsibility of the independent practice and the dentists they employ. According to its website, “ADMI makes it easier for clinicians to have the careers they’ve always dreamed of, delivering care to their patients with the support of a team of experienced business professionals who are committed to making their practices a success.”

The new office has convenient parking and features many amenities designed to make a patient’s visit as easy and comfortable as possible. In addition, the office is open extended hours on weekdays and on select Saturdays. Walk-in and emergency patients are welcomed.

Dr. Saab noted that his new practice is another step in alleviating the shortage of dental care providers in Tulare County, which has been designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) for dentists by the Health Resources & Services Administration, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. On a scale from zero to 26, Tulare County scored 19, meaning there is a high need for dental providers, especially for those serving low-income populations.

Services and office practices may vary across Aspen Dental practices, and patients should contact the dental offices directly for all questions concerning their dental treatment.
