Exeter Chamber corrals ride for Ag Expo
By Paul Myers
exeter – The World Ag Expo comes to Tulare County once a year. And for three days people from all over the world flood in to the county to learn about the latest and greatest technology to hit the farming industry. The only problem… parking.
For fifty years now the Expo has been host to a great number of farmers, Ag workers and technology enthusiasts all trying to get the most out of their land. So it is no surprise that some folks have to park 10 or 15 minutes away to simply get to the gate. But that is why Park & Ride exists. Offering shuttles that run every 30 minutes, Park & Ride picks people up and drops them off right at the gate. And for the better part of a year, the City of Exeter and the Exeter Chamber of Commerce has been trying to get Park & Ride to stop in town. Well finally, this year the shuttles will be running all three days Feb. 14-16 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
People can drive up to the Exeter Memorial Building at 324 N. Kaweah Ave, leave their cars for the day and hop on a shuttle that will take them straight to Gate 2. The cost is free to and from the Expo, and the Chamber will be an additional benefit to riders.
When attendants return they will be offered an Experience Exeter magazine and a ride to Mixter Park at the center of downtown. According to Exeter Chamber of Commerce representative Sarah Tyler the World Ag Expo has always been a time of year where mural tours see a significant bump. The Chamber hopes that people not familiar with Exeter, or Tulare County, will get a nice view of the city and what it has to offer.
