Product captures ag thieves day or night
Agriculture crime presents its own set of unique challenges. Crimes often occur in large areas insulated from the eyes of passersby. Ag land is often devoid of on-site security measures leaving landowners open to thieves stealing copper wire from wind machines, antibiotics from dairies or chemicals from cotton farms.
Alan Roberts, executive security consultant for Stanley Security, said his company’s Videofied AG Alarm is an outdoor instant motion viewer system that combines motion detectors with a built-in video camera. The affordable system can protect remote assets including irrigation systems, farm equipment and machinery, crops, livestock, and storage sheds and construction sites. Once an intruder trips the Motion Viewer, the system transmits both a standard alarm signal followed by a 10-second video clip of the event to Stanley Security’s professional monitoring station. The operator immediately reviews the incident and provides priority dispatch response to law enforcement. The system will also notify the property owner’s smart phone.
“Stanley is associated with power tools but is also a world leader as a security service provider,” said Roberts, who works out of Stanley Security’s Fresno office. “The entire system can be armed, disarmed and set up on a timer depending on when workers are scheduled to be on your property.”
Roberts said the system, which was initially launched in 2013, was selected for the Top 10 New Products at this year’s World Ag Expo because of advancements in the camera optics and sensor technology. While many systems still use still photo cameras or video stored on hard drives before being viewed, Stanley’s system employs color video in the day time and black and white at night. The camera’s infrared illumination capability has increased for a clearer picture of night-time conditions. He said the system also uses wireless cameras that can transmit over 1,000 feet and can coordinate up to 24 motion cameras. Completely wireless and battery-powered, the alarm system is able to work anywhere there is a cellular transmission signal. All transmissions are encrypted and then decoded by Stanley’s own 24-hour monitoring service.
“The World Ag Expo is a great place to build Stanley’s brand for security services,” he said. “Last year was our first year at the show and we picked up several customers from the Valley and made contacts with potential customers from around the world.”
From row crops to orchards and Kern to Stanislaus County, the Videofied AG Alarm is rapidly becoming a leader in remote agriculture security. Roberts said in Tulare County, Stanley encourages farmers to combine the company’s security system with programs offered through the Sheriff’s Department, such as owner applied numbers or OANs. These numbers correspond to a single farmer or farming operation and are painted somewhere on equipment. The number and its location is then recorded with the Sheriff’s Department’s Ag Crimes Unit to help them verify whether or not a piece of equipment, chemicals or crops were stolen.
Stanley’s Security system is just one of the Top-10 New Products that will be showcased during the 49th annual World Ag Expo from Feb. 9-11 in Tulare. A group of judges made up of farmers, ranchers and industry professionals selected the Top-10 New Products which also included those below:
Ace Pump Corporation
Gemini Dual Pump Kit
Ace Pump Corporation’s Gemini Dual Pump Kit allows a user to independently operate two Ace Pumps from a single hydraulic supply manually or with a pulse width modulated control signal. It allows operators to quickly and easily dial in separate application rates for liquid fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and other crop inputs. The Gemini kit can help any producer wanting to apply two liquids at different precision rates, effectively reducing trips through the field, fuel costs and compaction.

Hesston-Built WR9800 Series RearSteer
Swathing and changing from one field to the next is slow, sometimes unstable, and inefficient. AGCO has the answer: the Hesston by Massey Ferguson WR9800 Series RearSteer option. The RearSteer option allows a windrower to perform normally in a field, but during transport transforms the machine into a combine- or self-propelled forage harvester-style steering. Because of the movement of the steering function from the front to the rear wheels, the new self-propelled windrower with the RearSteer option has increased gradability and makes for easier, faster transport, and better stability, even at higher speeds.

Coldwell Solar, Inc.
Do you want to reduce water usage and labor time when cleaning your solar panels? The new MegaWash mobile tractor system advances in parallel with each row of solar panels, steadily auto-adjusting its precision-controlled hydraulic boom gently onto each panel’s surface, and it requires only 800 gallons of de-ionized water per 1MW DC solar system. This equates to 80% less water being used for the removal of soiling from solar panel surfaces, when compared to traditional washing. Leave the cleaning work to certified experts who understand solar panel maintenance. With MegaWash, a single machine and technician will cover an entire 1MW DC installation in under 4 hours versus 16 hours with a traditional two-person team.

LiftGator’s new LiftGator XTR liftgate system provides an easy, simple solution and alternative to a permanent liftgate. It is designed to lift up to 1,200 lbs. and can easily be attached to any truck in less than three minutes. The LiftGator is simply rolled up to the back of the truck and slid into the hitch receiver. Stabilizers drop to the ground to support the gate and the large 48” aluminum platform unfolds. The platform is raised and lowered with the push of a button, safely and easily lifting the heaviest of loads. The truck can be driven with the LiftGator attached for any length of time.

Orchard Machinery Corporation
Fully Automated Shaker Technology: Tree Seeker
Outfitted with multiple patents, the Tree Seeker from Orchard Machinery Corporation is a fully-automated machine that transforms any orchard operation. The machine locates the trees with a “seeing” eye, which communicates to the machine the x and y coordinates and the tree diameter, steers and stops the machine in the correct location, extends the head and shakes the tree, then proceeds to do the same thing at the next tree. An operator is needed simply to turn the machine around at the end of the rows.
The parameters are consistent for every tree so a uniform shake is provided across the field. In addition, the machine longevity will increase because the operator will be incapable of using the machine incorrectly.

Red Fox Safety Products
The 2016 Top-10 New Product from Red Fox Safety Products features wireless technology to immediately stop engines or motors powering equipment with the touch of a transmitter button. On mobile equipment or vehicles the Fox-Paws receiver unit is wired into the ignition circuit of the diesel or gas engine or the START/STOP station of an electrical motor. The equipment operator has a transmitter on his or her belt or shirt pocket. If a problem arises, the operator can push the transmitter button, shutting off the engine or motor powering the equipment. It can also be configured to stop multiple pieces of equipment or vehicles at the same time.

This year, Tule Technologies is introducing a product that could dramatically change the way growers irrigate and manage their fields, especially on larger operations. Farmers will more easily be able to prioritize resources and minimize production threats with Tule Technologies’ new 24/7 automated irrigation advisor. Tule measures actual evapotranspiration in the field to power simple, actionable, and more accurate irrigation decisions.
Growers can use Tule to anticipate yield and quality threats by remotely monitoring crop water status. Daily data is collected remotely and presented to growers on an easy-to-use mobile app and desktop dashboard. Growers can quickly review results to prioritize which fields are water-stressed, unlocking the secret to management of more acres with less time and labor.
